I see an error message when attempting to start a School or Class

If you're having trouble starting a new School or Class, there's usually an easy fix!

To start, did you originally sign up by visiting bandlab.com, or edu.bandlab.com? You'll need to have signed up with a Teacher account using BandLab for Education in order to create a School or Class.

You may find it helpful to keep a personal account on BandLab in addition to using a school email address to sign up to use BandLab for Education. If you've already used your school email but need it to be used with BandLab for Education, you can use these steps:

  1. Visit https://www.bandlab.com/ settings/account and update your email address to a personal email address. If you previously used Login via Google, be sure to unlink your account here
  2. Click your profile icon at the top right and choose Log Out
  3. Visit edu.bandlab.com
  4. Select Start as a Teacher and create your BandLab for Education account using your school email address

If you'd rather delete your BandLab account, follow this guide for details. After deleting, you can visit edu.bandlab.com and choose Start as a Teacher to create your new account.

If you've signed up using edu.bandlab.com but do not see a way to create a class, you may need to check with the School owner (creator of your school on BandLab) to ensure you have the correct status (Teacher or Admin). You can learn more about roles here.
