COPPA Compliance & Parental Consent

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) is a United States federal law, effective April 21, 2000. This applies to the online collection of personal information by persons or entities under U.S. jurisdiction about children under 13 years of age including children outside the U.S., if the company is U.S.-based.

If your student users are 13 or under, located in the USA

To maintain COPPA Compliance, please obtain verifiable parental consent via our COPPA consent form, or the COPPA form used by your school. We recommend compiling these forms in PDF format, creating a zip file containing all forms, then emailing the zip file to privacy@bandlab.com.

If your student users are 14-18 (located in the USA), OR 18 and below anywhere else in the world

We recommend obtaining parental consent via our Parental Consent Form, or the form used by your school (if any). We recommend compiling these forms in PDF format, creating a zip file containing all forms, then emailing the zip file to privacy@bandlab.com.

If your student users are over 18

No action is required, but we recommend they review our updated Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.  If you have questions on the privacy policy or consent forms, you can write to privacy@bandlab.com
